In light of a recently failed negotiation with a 16 yr. old teen at our local airport and increasingly violent youth offenders, this informational component takes a look at what to consider when preparing to negotiate with a teen, or young adult.
If we choose to negotiate with teens, as we would with adults, results could prove fatal. Understanding the developmental competence and trauma in the teenage brain requires us to slow down our process more than ever. Take time to consider new tactics and techniques to avoid disastrous outcomes.
