INCIDENT DEBRIEF

The presentation is an overview of a hostage incident that occurred in 2021 involving a male subject who kidnapped his estranged wife and one-year-old child in Oklahoma. The male fled with the two in a vehicle and drove from Oklahoma to Texas, where he was eventually spotted and pursued. The subject held a gun to the hostage's heads while being pursued and eventually ended up in Corpus Christi, where his vehicle was disabled by spike strips. Subsequently, the male ran into a restaurant, taking the one-year-old hostage for several hours. The Corpus Christi Police Department's hostage negotiation team conducted negotiations for two hours before the SWAT team entered. The presentation includes radio communications, body camera footage and car video recordings of the incident.
