This seminar is designed for explosive breachers of all experience levels and covers three focused topics critical to tactical operations: An Introduction to Explosive Theory and Tactical Application (90 minutes), Explosive Energy Release: Myths and Facts (60 minutes), and Legal Case Study: Explosive Spallation Injury - Expert Witness Perspective (60 minutes). The course will provide a brief history of explosives, introduce the fundamentals of explosive science, and discuss the theory of explosive energy transfer. Participants will review various types of explosives relevant to tactical operations and explore the history, current use, and anticipated future trends in explosive applications for breaching. The seminar will also address common myths and misconceptions related to explosive breaching. Finally, attendees will examine key points and counterpoints from expert witness opinions surrounding an inadvertent injury sustained during an explosive breaching operation, offering critical insight into the legal considerations of tactical explosive use.
