SEMINAR

Location: Chesapeake 4-6

This course is designed to equip operators, team leaders, and tactical commanders with a streamlined decision-making model for time-sensitive, high-stakes situations. The PIETO Critical Thinking Model builds upon Boyd's OODA Loop, emphasizing not only how to make timely decisions, but how to ensure those decisions are legal, ethical, tactically sound, and life-preserving for all parties involved. PIETO fosters a collaborative decision-making environment among operators, team leaders, and command staff. It enhances cognitive flexibility under pressure, promotes optimal performance in dynamic environments, and strengthens resilience in the aftermath of critical incidents or trauma. This model also provides a defensible framework to articulate and justify decisions during post-incident reviews, internal investigations, and legal proceedings. Participants will leave with practical tools to integrate PIETO into their team's tactical decision-making processes.
