This presentation will provide a summary of the over 100 nights of civil unrest the City of Portland experienced during the summer of 2020 and discuss lessons learned from those experiences. The presenter will explain how the Portland Police Bureau is leveraging lessons learned, along with recommendations from an independent outside review of the Bureau’s handling of the protests, to build a stronger foundation for managing protests and demonstrations in the City of Portland moving forward.
