Trousdell, DougInformally known as the Bridge Jumper Expert of British Columbia, Staff Sergeant Doug Trousdell has spent the last 20 years negotiating with people on rooftops, balconies and bridges. In 2000, he was sworn into the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, and while working as a patrol officer in Surrey, he was selected to the Lower Mainland Crisis Negotiation Team. S/Sgt. Trousdell spent his career in frontline policing and investigations and was a member of the busiest negotiation team in the RCMP. In his current role in the BC Critical Incident Program, S/Sgt. Trousdell oversees the negotiator teams for the Province. S/Sgt. Trousdell is an instructor on the National Basic Negotiation Course in Ottawa. He has developed and delivered advanced negotiation and kidnap courses across Canada. Holding a Graduate Certificate in Instructional Design, S/Sgt. Trousdell is passionate about Experiential Learning. His scenarios are used by Law Enforcement, Government Agencies, and Partner Industries to prepare for critical incidents. S/Sgt. Trousdell is honored to be presenting at this year's NTOA Crisis Negotiations Conference.
