Suttles, TimothyTim Suttles retired after 23 years as a Special Agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigation. He began his FBI career in 2001 and was assigned to the Eugene, Oregon, Resident Agency in the Portland Division. Tim spent his entire career in the Eugene RA working on various federal violations. During his time with the FBI, he served as the primary Eugene Domestic Terrorism Agent. In 2004, Tim was selected for the Portland Division Crisis Negotiation Team. In 2008, he was selected as the Portland Division Crisis Negotiation Coordinator (CNC) and served in that role until retirement. In early 2016, Tim was the CNC during the 41-day Malheur National Wildlife Reserve standoff involving Sovereign Citizens and militias. In 2018, he deployed to Misawa, Japan and taught a 40-hour negotiation class to US Air Force Security Forces. In 2019, he deployed to Bamako, Mali and taught a 40-hour negotiation course to federal law enforcement. In 2023, Tim deployed to Recife, Brazil and taught a 40-hour negotiation course to federal and state law enforcement. Tim was an FBI Adjunct Faculty Member with certifications in Negotiations and Domestic Terrorism. He was awarded the President's Award in 2022 by the Western States Hostage Negotiator's Association.
