

Sasso, WayneWayne Sasso is an O2X On-Site Human Performance Specialist specializing in Mental Performance with the Arlington County Police Department. In this role, he focuses on enhancing cognitive readiness and psychological resilience for law enforcement personnel. Through individual coaching, mental skills training, and curriculum development, Wayne supports officers in building mental toughness, managing stress, and improving overall performance in high-stakes environments.
Wayne has over eight years of experience in the human performance field, working with a diverse range of populations. Prior to joining O2X, he was part of the Optimizing the Human Weapon System program in Tucson, AZ, where he developed and implemented a psychological program for fighter pilots of the A-10 Warthog. His approach included a standardized curriculum, one-on-one coaching, and cognitive training integrated into physical readiness activities. Before that, Wayne served as a Mental Conditioning Coordinator, providing sport psychology services to athletes from youth to professional levels, helping them perform under pressure, recover from setbacks, and strengthen their mental game.
Wayne earned his bachelor's degree in Sport and Exercise Psychology from West Virginia University in 2015, where he also gained experience as a strength coach for high school and college athletes. He went on to complete a master's degree in Counseling with a focus on Sport and Performance Psychology from Boston University in 2018, interning with BU athletics and Lesley University athletics during his studies.
Outside of work, Wayne is a dedicated Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu practitioner and enjoys spending time hiking with his wife and their dog, Winnie, or relaxing at local breweries.
