Shaw, Bob

Bob Shaw began his law enforcement career with the Rolling Meadows Police Department in Illinois in 2001. During his time with RMPD, he spent three years assigned to the NIPAS Emergency Services Team (EST), including two years as a member of the sniper element. In 2007, Bob lateraled to the Pierce County Sheriff's Department. He joined the SWAT team in March 2012, initially serving as an entry team member before transitioning into a sniper role, eventually becoming the sniper team leader. In 2022, he was appointed senior entry team leader. Throughout his tenure with the Sheriff's Department, Bob has served in multiple specialized roles, including rescue diver with the METRO Dive Team, gang deputy, peer support team member, narcotics detective, and as a cross-commissioned Federal Task Force Officer with the Tacoma DEA Task Force for four years. Bob was promoted to Patrol Sergeant in 2022 and has been a cadre member of the Washington State Tactical Officers Association since that time.
