Schlossberg, Dr. Antoinette

Dr. Antoinette Collarini Schlossberg is an Adjunct Full Professor of Criminal Justice and a retired Professor and Chairperson of the Division of Criminal Justice, Legal Studies, and Homeland Security at St. John's University. A licensed psychologist with decades of experience in academia, government, and forensic consultation, she has worked extensively with law enforcement agencies on crisis intervention, negotiation, and organizational leadership. Dr. Schlossberg's government career included 22 years of service in Westchester County, where she directed the Youth Bureau, oversaw juvenile justice programs, and chaired an interagency Gang Task Force. In academia, she created new forensic psychology programs, advised criminal justice honor societies, and authored numerous publications. She has collaborated with the NYPD Hostage Negotiation Team, the FBI, the U.S. Secret Service, and other agencies, with areas of expertise including stress reduction, emotional intelligence, and the role of women in negotiations. With her late husband, Dr. Harvey Schlossberg, she developed educational programs on hostage negotiation. She contributed to the award-winning documentary Hold Your Fire, which chronicles the origins of modern police negotiation. Today, Dr. Schlossberg continues to teach, lecture, and consult internationally, sharing more than four decades of expertise in psychology, criminal justice, and crisis intervention.
