

Bentley, JasonOfficer Bentley currently serves as a Class Officer at the Southern Arizona Law Enforcement Training Center, where he oversees the training and development of new recruits. In this role, he designs and implements progressive training programs, coordinates qualified instructors, and ensures recruits meet the minimum requirements to become certified Peace Officers. Additionally, Officer Bentley serves as an Adjunct Professor at Pima Community College, facilitating recruits' ability to earn college credit for academy coursework and supporting their continued education post-graduation.
To further support recruits and active officers, Officer Bentley holds multiple specialized certifications, including General Instructor, Firearms Instructor, Active Killer Response Instructor, Armorer, and Red Dot Instructor. He has completed advanced training such as Critical Incident Management, Crisis Intervention Training, and is certified as an Integrating Communications, Assessments, and Tactics (ICAT) Instructor. He is also a Senior Guide for the Struggle Well program through the Boulder Crest Foundation, passionately supporting first responders and veterans as they transform adversity into strength and discover profound purpose through their journey of resilience.
Prior to his current assignment, Officer Bentley served 12 years as a Senior Operator with the Tucson Police Department SWAT team and spent three years on the TAC Squad, a patrol-based SWAT unit. He was a K9 handler for 10 years, uniquely dual-assigned to both SWAT and K9 units, where he played a key role in integrating K9 capabilities into tactical operations. Earlier in his career, Officer Bentley worked in patrol within Operations Division West and served as a Field Training Officer (FTO), mentoring newly graduated officers.
