Rego, Francis

With over two decades of law enforcement experience, Lt. Francis Rego is a seasoned professional known for his unwavering dedication and exceptional leadership. Currently serving as the Special Response Team (SRT) Commander within the Special Patrol Bureau of the Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office, he oversees a 40-man full-time SWAT team charged with executing high-risk search and arrest warrants, conducting hostage rescue incidents, responding to barricaded subjects, and providing dignitary protection details. Prior to his current position, Lt. Rego held various pivotal roles within the force, including uniform patrol in several districts and police operations at Port Miami. As an officer, he quickly progressed through the ranks and was assigned to a Crime Prevention Unit in the Kendall District, where he excelled in proactive enforcement and investigative work. A distinguished member of the law enforcement community, Lt. Rego is affiliated with esteemed organizations, including the National Tactical Officers Association, where he recently completed their Command College.
