Brian completed his Class A POST certification in 2010 and began his law enforcement career in 2011 as a Patrol Officer with the Atchison, Kansas Police Department, serving in that role through 2016. In 2013, he joined the Special Response Team (SRT), later serving as point man from 2015 to 2020. He led the department's K-9 Unit from 2016 to 2024 and was promoted to Assistant Team Leader for the SRT in 2020. In 2021, he attended the HTOA Commander School, further developing his tactical leadership. He assumed command of the SRT in 2023 and currently serves as Patrol Sergeant and Head of the Special Response Team.
